120Hz display option on a 60Hz display

Um... my settings is showing 120Hz refresh rate display option:

when my device's refresh rate is 60Hz (unconfirmed). Is that a software bug or something?

I have the same on some Linux distros. I think it is because of my KVM or Splitter. Do you have any of those?

Well. I have seen Gnome users complain about how Gnome shell draws at 60hz even if you have a 120hz Monitor...
Now this is just the other way around.

All this discussion lately about which is better, Linux or Windows and you just had to go and post this.

Display is wrong. I honestly wonder if glxgears is involved in this... it is known to display 120hz when you are at 60hz. But is Display app calling that info?

Might be a bug, gnome had this issue a few years back as well, wasn't patched until last year, wonder if the patch hasn't made the lts stream yet?

My display is not a great one, but it works at 74.97 Hz. Once when I had a display problem, I heard about a bug in the Displayport implementation.
