A friendly chat among peers

Okay, thank you, I agree with you. I am not revealing anything. I can only tell you my name, country, and some basic details about my computer. I am not revealing secrets in code words like a world war. I am just an average person in this world who has come to this form to solve some problem. I got a very friendly person in this form who knows Hindi so I just want to talk to him in Hindi.

Don't worry I have already read all the terms and conditions of this form(you can know that by seeing my badges). I am not going to do anything against this form policy.

(Reality - I want to talk in Hindi because honestly, my English is poor :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Very happy new year sir.

Aside from some Lakota, I know only English. So from my perspective, it is me who has poor language skills.

Hello AdarshMeher, see you have installed and have working laptop again. Can you perhaps tell which OS you have installed, because I don't think you did as I suggested.

That time I wanted to follow your instruction but anyone has deleted that topic. Yes, Now I have installed kde neon.

Can you look if there is a backup program/app of any kind installed on your system.

Look for it in the menu. If there is you can follow the instructions from the app. If not you can install time shift or deja dup.
You can choose to backup your files and folders or an entire partition.

Second is where you want to backup the data to. Is it a hard drive or usb, you can decide. I remember you creating a separate partition for backup, is this still present.
If so, you can choose to put you backup there.

Yes, it has an application named as a backup but I don't know how to use it.

(If you are feeling bad because of my response towards you then I am very very sorry. I know how it feels when anyone says no to your opinion and agrees with the same opinion when others say that. I was about to reinstall my os by following your instructions that time but when I try to find that topic then I can't able to find that any more. I don't want to hurt your feelings, that was my situation, I can't see that topic anymore so I think anyone has deleted my topic so forcefully I created a new topic and then some members started to answer me so I have no other choice other than following their instructions.:sweat:honestly, I am feeling very uncomfortable because of this mistake :disappointed::disappointed:.)

"backup" is deja dup and simple to use to backup your /home content.
See this: How to Backup: Deja Dup + which application?

I have read everything but because I am a noob I am having a problem understanding the warning. Can you please help me to understand that?

I can assure you that no one has deleted your topic- nor is there a mistake in your history that would have resulted in such. If you can post some keywords to search for, perhaps the users can help find your topic.

The purpose in creating a back up is to have that back up to use to Restore your system should something go wrong.
Most often, an irrecoverable problem that is sufficient to cause a Restoration to be necessary occurs in Root.
Back ups of Root may therefor also back up the corrupted file that went wrong.
And you wouldn't know which file - because if you did, you would merely correct that file instead of restoring your system.

Yes, I don't remember that topic name properly. It was something like my stem is not booting or the system stopped while booting. Can you find that topic?

Any of these?

If you go to your Profile on the Zorin Forum, you will see an option for Activity. Select that, then look in the Left Pane, you should see Topics. This is a list of all topics you have started.
One is closed as a duplicate, but none have been deleted or removed.

Okay, thank you. I will remember that.

No that is not that topic. I have already seen all the activities sections. I have read all activities one by one but It was not there. If you ask then I can give you a long screen shot of that

Below are the topics I have created.

That topic is not here also...

I am sure that anyone has deleted or it is a glitch in this form.

A glitch, perhaps. There are no topics created by you that have been deleted or removed.

Okay, I also think so. Because if really anyone has deleted then I should have got a notification that time but I don't get any notification that day.

I have done the website development course and I know that this kind of glitches can occur on big servers. It's okay. And As a bad luck person, this kind of problem is now common in my life.

@100WCharge I just noticed a thing. Previously when I was using kde plasma in Zorin os I was having an option to hibernate. And now it's not there anymore. Can you see the hibernate option in your kde neon? Do you know how to get that option?

Are you able to see an arrow button beside the shut down option, click it and then click on hibernate
