Earlier, I wrote a post on Mastodon in the Fediverse, which I would like to repeat here and expand on a little.
I have been using Windows professionally since the early 1990s and privately since the mid-1990s.
Since yesterday afternoon/evening, #Windows11 is history on my PC. I first tested #ZorinOS on a fast stick, and now it's running in the paid Pro version on the system drive (512 GB 970 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD).
Most of the programs I use are also available for linux. For others, there are good alternatives. The most important thing for me is that my beloved Calibre runs wonderfully. Porting the data also worked perfectly. I switched from MSOffice to LibreOffice some time ago. My email provider is mailbox dot org and the portal runs in the browser. I can also use WISO Steuer in the browser, so nothing stands in the way of filing my tax return next year.
I am thrilled and think that I made a very good choice with ZorinOS.

In the near future, I will certainly post a few questions that I have not yet found satisfactory answers to.
Experience the full potential of zorin os with the zorin connect app. It may look normal bloatware (definitely not!!), but its extremely handy app that lets you to control your pc through your phone. There is not even any setup required.
Just install zorin connect on your phone and ensure that both devices are in same network. Done !!
The only thing I use Zorin-Connect for, is to show my phone notifications on my monitor. I also tried to use it for replying to SMS messages, the normal mode doesn't even see my contacts, I have to run it in legacy mode. In legacy mode, it can't even display previous sent text messages history.
Also, in regards to file transfers between computer and phone, it can only send individual files, it can't send folders with files inside. For me, Zorin-Connect leaves a lot to be desired. I've been told that KDE-Connect is better.
Anyways, if your looking for a simple file transfer app that runs on your local network, doesn't need the net, and can transfer files and folders like any normal OS file manager can, consider LocalSend for that.
I'm glad you are thrilled with Zorin OS though, that is awesome!
Make sure you're using the latest Zorin Connect app . They updated it about two weeks before Zorin 18 launched, and it fixed most of the bugs.
In your PC, open the Zorin Connect app and enable all options except Legacy SMS. On your phone, give Zorin Connect full permissions, including any restricted settings (some phones hide these), and enable all plugins in the Android app. Then check again, SMS should work perfectly.
I tried sms functionality and it perfectly pulls all the sms and i can send sms through the app in pc. Let me know how it goes...
