A new way to open .deb files?

I found this litle gem while searching for something else in the board search files ....

$ sudo dpkg -i ####### (drag the .deb package from your file manager to the terminal) and paste it in the ######## ..... but you will have to remove the apostrophes both in front of and after the file info .....

After the apostrophes are removed .....

Will this work for all .deb files????? .... I just tried it on that one

Yes it works on all.

".deb cannot be downloaded securely" and "exit code 127 error"

For the downloaded debs, you can install them using: 1.sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/<packagename.deb> or 2. sudo dpkg -i and then open the Downloads folder, select a deb and drag it into the terminal and the path will autopopulate. For Edge, I suspect it will block other files, not just debs. It just happened to be that you noticed it first with debs. Likely something in its download or security settings. You may want to ask on an Edge forum as well about this issue.

Sorry didn't realize you had written that post ..... I did want to show that if you don't delete the apostrophes fore and aft the .deb file it will not work .... it drove me crazy trying to figure out you had to do that ....

I can’t explain that. Works for me just fine with the apostrophes.
