I just had 18 Core installed on my laptop at the local community college. They set up a generic log in password and when trying to change it, I hit delete password and it deleted the whole dialog box. I don’t know what it is called. How to fix it?
Ask the Admin of community college...

Probably a dumb idea but if you formally deleted the password are you perhaps no longer password protected at all. Can you just go to settings/system/users and change the password to what you want?
They are out for the summer. The odd thing is I no longer have any of the stored passwords. There were 3. Is Password an app that uninstalled when I hit the {delete password} button? Sorry for my ignorance, I’m brand new and had an old Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 converted to dual boot
And thanks to those replying with suggestions. I appreciate your taking time to read my plight. Luckily, the temporary password they created still accesses the OS.
So have you tried going to settings/system/users and resetting your password? If you have to enter your existing password to do that, it sounds like your temporary one would work.
