Congratulations to the team.
When I try to add an application to run at the starting settings the field diseapear and window stuck !?. It also did with an application like ytdownloader to add a folder. it refused.
thank you all for an idea at this bug. 
Do you want to create a new launcher in start menu with main menu (=alacarte)? Have you selected an icon for the launcher (click on the folder icon to select an icon)?
Or are you trying to add an application to startup programs?
Can you please take a screenshot of the window which you mean?

What Program do You try to add to Startup and how did You tried to do that?

I just wanted to add a program startup system but this is impossible when you click to add, the field become grey and stuck situation. 
Please show me with a screenshot what you mean.
Do You use gnome-tweaks for it? Alternatively, You could try the Program Ignition. It is available in the Software Store.
I'm not sure what the problem is.
With gnome-tweaks you can easily add startup applications, but it shouldn't happen that the window disappears.
sudo apt install gnome-tweaks
but it sounds as if it is more a freezing or other problem.
Did you already try to switch from Wayland to Xorg or the other way round? Logout and at login click on your username then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right corner. There you can switch between Xorg and Wayland.
I'm wondering if it is a flatpak/snap problem of missing permissions....
I just solved the issue with ignition app. It looks pretty good. thank you Ponce-de-leon ! I think it was a bug system. It does the same issue with differents programs. to go up to developers of the team.

Oui Forpli. c'est peut-etre wayland qui est pas bien au point encore. mais j'essaierai plus maintenant que çà marche. merçi à tous.
for information. I tried with windows manager xorg and it has been same problem, field frozen an stuck, i had to log out session and choose wayland as default. ignition made the job anyway.
