Hey, hopefully i wont get nucked to abyss for this thread...
im trying to get runnig the Affinity publisher, photo and designer.
I have tried following the https://github.com/seapear/AffinityOnLinux
via Lutris metod with Wine-tkg-affinity script. - This metod installed program, but After launching only starting logo would appear and nothing else.
I also tried the integrated wine tools with no luck.
PC specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen7 5800X3D, GPU: Saphine Nitro RX 7800XT RAM:32 GB
That Github points to Affinity Version One, which is quite different from Affinity Version Two.
V2 relies heavily on D3D12 + .NET, which relies on vk3d3-proton, which isactually worse on an RX 7800 XT than any other card.
You probably cannot get past the early runtime failures... And...
Even if you can get it to fully init and launch... It won't work very well.
Sadly, using Windows in a VM or downgrading to V1 are your least stressful and more reliable options.

Your hardware specs are by far strong enough, to run a Win11 VM with native speed. Using QEMU / KVM (VirtManager) is IMHO the best and easiest solution.

Or you could get the free V3 version now that it has been taken over by Canva. Warning, I cannot get it to run in Zorin. Please read the entire thread, not just my initial post.
Please watch this excellent tutorial:
i launched one of the three Affinity Apps in Windows 10 and got a message I could get the latest for free. (A.I. package has to be paid for but all the essentials that you had in Designer, Photo, and Publisher are conjoined in one interface:
[Canva]
The current version is:
[Canva version]
You can still open your original Affinity Products (I never went beyond the last version of 1) and you get the nag screen to download Affinity by Canv…
