After software update my laptop wont boot properly

I hope the picture can be seen. I have a victus hp gaming laptop. So i orginally had ubuntu as my OS and i ran a software update and when i accepted to restart my computer to allow the update to fully run it gets stuck on the loading screen.

I switched to zorin (since i already run it on my old laptop) and its doing the same thing. I hope someone could help! I hope all of you have a fantastic day.

Welcome to the Forum!

When the Update contains the new 6.17 Kernel, it could be that. When you are on this Screen on Your Picture and You turn off Your Laptop completely and unplug it from Power, wait a bit and then plug it in again and start it, does this help?

Another Thing, You could try: Choose in GRUB Menu the Advanced Options and start in the older 6.14 Kernel.

Thank you!

My laptop has been off and unplugged since i made this post. So i could try that method!

Also to add whenever i put my laptop in suspend/sleep mode and try to wake it up the screen remains black.

Sleep/Suspend Issues are not rare. There would be now the Question if it is related or not ...

Just wanted to give you an update i took the suggestion to boot the previous kernal and it works fine now. I can suspend my computer normally and it will wake up.

My question is does it continues to update my software even if im running and older version?

Yes, Your Software will be updated.
