One of your most recent software updates somehow wiped out all of my shell settings - the whole desktop has reverted to the Zorin 18 defaults, everything I had adjusted is gone. (minus the cursors I installed - for some reason that was preserved.)
I spent a lot of time fine tuning everything, so this is very frustrating - now I have to completely start over, and find all the settings for every detail, including stuff I had to dig up in Extension Manager and dconf editor. It's going to take me a long time to find every setting again.

Shouldn't stuff like this get caught in beta testing?
This is the first major bug I've encountered in Zorin 18. And yes, I'd consider this a major bug. I spent hours searching and fine tuning my settings.
I have to say, I did so with the worry that this would all get erased at some point, but I didn't think it'd be this soon.
Why isn't there a way to back up your settings? Please consider adding a button to import/export my settings or sync them to a cloud drive or something - even something trivial like a gist would work fine.
Sure You can. When You use the Software Updater, You can see everytime a List with Packages. And when You click on an Entry, You can see at the bottom Half the Details with Package Name, Version Jump and Changelog.
I ask that to see if there is a Connection between the done Updates and this Behavior. Only because You did Updates doesn't mean that they affect the System this Way.
Don't understand me wrong: I don't say that You are wrong. But it would be helpful to have further Details. To blame the Updates ... can be true but don't have to. It is a bit difficult.
And the only really critical Update what come to my Mind would be the Kernel Update to 7.0. But I have Doubts that this would lead to this Behavior.
Only to have ask: You can set up the System again and it stays as You set it up, yes? It doesn't jump back again after a Reboot or so.
Yep, happened to me too. But I also have another bigger issue "failed to load gnome desktop". As a new user to Linux this is frustrating no end. This is the second time this has happened. The first time I just reinstalled Zorin.. this time I have followed all instructions and nothing. I really don't wanna re-install again and go through getting all my Windows stuff sorted into Linux only to have this happen again.. The odd thing is it runs on my 10yo PC no issues, go figure
