Enrico Weigelt decided to fork Xorg as Xlibre. Of course, I fully support the effort. However, this does not mean Weigelt is in the right, here. Weigelt suffers from self inflicted wounds while denying his own responsibilities.
Sadly, this is a bit like watching Lex Luthor battle Skeletor. You cannot easily pick who is the righteous party, here.

Red Hat is now a subsidiary of IBM. You need to be aware that Red Hat was the main force in pushing systemd and pulse audio to be the 'de facto' boot system and audio controller which to me was and is a disaster. Red Hat has always wanted to be the MS of the GNU/Linux world, and had a long-term desire to remove /etc from GNU. Such an attempt would have led to not being able to create blacklist.conf files in order to get certain hardware to work. Not all GNU/Linux corporations are saintly, they too crave for dominance over others, leading to a self-inflicted wound that would never recover which could well lead to peoplw going back to Windows. Just think about that for a moment.
The point is not "use Discord." The point is "if one application can, another can," barring something like an API key locking things out, which is not likely the case here.
i agree this needs to hopefully not continue as win 10 is coming to an end and i have been seeing os's fall all over themselves to hopefully gain some from there to here. its win 11's "Recall" that brought me here. not saying it was easy but win 3.1 wasnt either there is always a learning curve. but i like zorin as its based on debian, ubuntu, gnome all of which i am starting to love
It's base is Ubuntu, while Ubuntu is based on Debian, it's (Zorin) not Debian based.
Just to add Debian setup an association for distributions based on Debian, and invited Ubuntu to join. They declined. Then again, mainstream Debian uses systemd, which led to a large swathe of Debian devs leaving to form Devuan, no systemd, but SysVinit.
ya there is a channel on you tube called youtux it is explaining the beginning of all this and where things have gone since 1993 to now
