Hi, is it possible to make the desktop favourites stay as they are when you open them and just add that long tab to the right? with grouping and ungrouping options?!
What version of Zorin are you using, Core or Lite?

what version do i download and how do i install it?
You will need to install 'Tweaks' (gnome-tweak-tool)
From a terminal enter:
sudo apt install gnome-tweak-tool
Once installed (do a reboot) and you should see 'Tweaks' somewhere in the menu (just use the search box on the menu for Tweaks. Then go to get new extensions and should take you to https://extenstions.gnome.org
then search for 'dash-to-panel'
ahh i got it now, the chrome gnome extension isnt working and rather than install from that website (on switch toggle) it was downloading the zip and i was confuzzled what to do with it there.
i switched to firefox and yay auto installed, and yes thank you so much this is exactly what i was looking for...when i set it up it messed the taskbar favs, but a quick reboot and it is doing what i wanted it to do!! that is, favs are just links and clicking on them, opens a new app tab in taskbar. yay
