Appearance setting "Enable animations" reverts to enabled after relog. I cannot keep it disabled.
Do you use the gnome extension "Just perfection"? I read that it causes this behavior. So if you use it try to disable the extension.
Another option you could try: Do you use automatic login without password? If yes, try to switch to login with password entry.
Thank you, that was it! I managed to play with the extension settings to get my desired effects. The main reason I installed "Just Perfection" was to force OSD messages to appear from the lower-right of my screen instead of the top.
I love Zorin OS because it felt familiar like the old Windows 7 UI, but even Zorin is starting to move towards a more modern, touch-agnostic design. First thing I had to do in the new version was fix my taskbar to not hover over the bottom-center like the Mac dock. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like these defaults.
