Archive.is

I'm going to put a warning here .....

******* WARNING DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK *******

If you do and like me you can't delete this you have been warned ....

A little dramatic ... yes maybe .... But I can find noway to delete this file and it continues to pop up occasionally when opening my browser ..... the only help I could find on the net was that only the owner of the file can delete and most of the time they won't .....
I did a search in the usual places in Home .... I also searched using Archive from the Menu button I can't find anywhere this file is being kept .... I can only assume that the LZqjH is the file name in the name of the website .....

here it is ........ archive.is/LZqjH .......

All help is greatly appreciated as this has been driving me up a wall for the past 4 days ......

Well, the good news is that link isn't working:

Can you describe what happens in more detail? And did you maybe installed or downloaded something recently?

That is not a file, but a portion of a URL, probably just cached or applied to a WebApp.
The website is archive.today and it serves saving snapshots of websites for you.
The LZqjH is likely the I.D, of the website snapshot that is saved.

Check if you have any Pinned URL's. You might try clearing your browsers cache.

Where this came from is in a post on a forum I belong to someone whom I trust posted an article I wanted to read started reading it but it was really long so I believe I just clicked on the article and saved it .... before closing that thread I had some time so I went back to the his post and read the article in it's entirety ....
This is as best as I can remember so I'm not sure if it will be any help ..... also it just reappears randomly through out the day ......

Thanks I'll try that and get back to you and let you know .....

Does the URL start with "file://"? If yes, then that should point to the exact location in your system where it's stored.

Maybe clearing cookies and such can help with this as well, did you try that?

No that is the problem it is exactly as exactly as I posted above ..... archive.is/LZqjH .....

I haven't cleared either cookies or cache yet .... will try that next time it pops back up

Your browser could have an option like Default page or starting page, what it does is when you open the browser it open the browser's default page or if set to custom then it will open other webpage instead. Check it in the browser settings, it might be accidentally set to the link you are mentioning.

Not sure what happened but I have not had that item appear since my last post a day ago ..... not sure just why or if it will reoccur at some later date ....

Problem is if it does come back I don't know what to do as I don't remember all the things I did do ..... LOL

Thanks or everyone's help ......
