My first thought was faulty HDMI cable - do you have access to a different one?
You use xrandr but Your System runs in Wayland. xrandr works better with X11. To switch, go to the Login Screen. Click there on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.
Other Points:
Thank you for the fast answer.
I don't have windows installed. any option of fastboot is disabled and I've tried with several HDMI cables.
Though I'm thinking now... I may have another laptop with windows on it. I'm going to test the HDMI port in that...
First try: I've changed to X11 and now xrandr detects the HDMI port, though it appears disconnected:
Wayland does not support Xrandr at all. Xrandr is for Xorg (X11).
Can you try:
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --auto
Then refresh your system.
Please don't kill me. I found the problem. Everything was fine... except the TV. I tried to connect another laptop to it and it didn't work either. And last night I plugged it on my living room TV and it worked without hesitation.
