Best replacement for Rocketdock or Quickstart?

There are certain programs that I use all the time, and having just moved from Windows 10 to Linux, I miss the convenience of Rocketdock and Quickstart. I've looked at alternatives and the one that seems the best liked is Docky--but it's discontinued. Can anyone recommend a good replacement for Rocketdock? All I want to do is be able to launch a program that I frequently use, and place the dock at the top of my screen for easy access.

What other alternatives have you tried? I've never used this Rocketdock, but it seems fairly similar to what Plank would be on linux. You could install and try that by just doing

sudo apt install plank

You can do what it sounds like you want to do, and change what edge of the screen it's attached to.

There, I would have several Ideas:

1.: You take the default Zorin Taskbar, go in the Settings, set it on Position Tab on the Option ''Panel Length'' to ''Dynamic'' and on ''Panel Monitor Position'' to ''Top''. Then You have it on the Top.

2.: You use the Gnome Extension Dash-To-Dock and in the Settings of it, You move it to the Top.

3.: When the default Gnome Top Bar is enough for You, you could use the Gnome Extension App Icons Taskbar - GNOME Shell Extensions to get App Icons to start Programs on the Top Bar.
