Big News! My old i5-2320 just got Kernel 6.17 on Zorin 18!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some excitement! I’m running Zorin OS 18 Core on my 4-month-old (but with older parts) PC—an Intel i5-2320, H61 motherboard, and 8GB RAM.

I just finished the update and I'm now on Kernel 6.17.0-14-generic. Everything feels super snappy and smooth on Wayland!

I noticed that the system is still keeping the old 6.14.0-37 kernel (about 169.5 MB). I guess Zorin is just being a good friend and keeping it as a backup for safety.

If any of you are rocking older hardware like mine, don't worry about the update—it works like a charm!

Cheers!

Indeed. An older Kernel Version is kept in Case that You have to go back to the older Kernel.
