Blu-rays on Zorin, the safe and legal way?

Hi,

I would like to play Blu-ray discs on my computer, but I can't because of the encryption. I tried installing VLC but it said I was missing an AACS configuration file.

When I was using Windows, I was able to play blu-rays by using Cyberlink PowerDVD 14, which worked fine, but I install that, even if I use Wine.

Is there a safe and legal way of playing blu-rays on Zorin?

Did a websearch of "blu-ray ubuntu 20.04" found this.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/BluRayAndHDDVD

There does not seem to be much newer information or advice from what I have seen.

I think according to that site, AACS was used to stop playback on open-source players. Probably to prevent violation of fair use rights.

The problem is, as mentioned above, I don't want to do anything that is illegal.

A point of historical interest. DVD was closed source until a Swedish 16 year old reverse engineered the DVD codecs and was put under house arrest!
