Hi all, i'm new to linux, and i'm struggling to find a solution to my problem. I have an 8bitdo SF30 gamepad, that is correctly paiting to the bluetooth. Immediately after the pairing, it perfectly work with CEMU and other amulator, but if i restart the system, CEMU and other emulators, stop to see it, even if normally appear in the bluetooth devices list as connected. The only "solution" is to forget the device from the bluetooth manager, and start a new pairing. It back to work till the next restart of the OS. Please, help. Thanks to anyone. (and sorry for my english)
Welcome to the Forum!
- Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
- If Windows is still installed: Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
- Did You checked the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates if any Driver is offered?
- Did you checked the Manufacturer's Website if there are any Infos, Instructions or Drivers for the Linux Usage?
- Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
Hi, thanks for your kind reply.
-i'm running Zorin 18.1 as only OS on the system
-i will go to check for the drivers : i didn't
-manufacture's website doesn't provide any usefull informations for Linux unfortunately
-i'm on Wayland. I've read somewhere that it is possible to switch between Wayland and X11 from the login screen, but i can't see where.
I did try to put the pad in Xinput mode, and it seems that the problem occur in Switch mode only. But in this case, i loose the gyroscope function.
Any idea?
On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and You can switch.
I will try, thanks.
In the meanwhile, if someone has other ideas about how to try to fix the problem, is welcome.
this was all i could find on your controller was someone talking about firmware updates but post was from 2019 and 2022 they stopped updating the firmware for it
Thanks so much for your attempt to help. Unfortunately i did update the firmware already, but the behaviour didn't change. I don't know if it's a problem with the OS or not. I should try to install windows, but it's a mess to go and back again....probably it doesn't worth. Let's hope that someone has solved this issue and can give a solution.
Is there any gamepad with gyros compatible with ZorinOS?
well i hear on 20th for windows users if they havnt oped out all files on computer will goto cloud and not easy to opt out either will look like files are on system but they are not they in cloud you have to download to have them on system
You could write a Mail to the Support of the Manufacturer and describe the Issue. Maybe they can offer You better Help. I mean, they should know their Product.
This is a really good idea, i didn't think about. Thanks.
