Boot issues

Hi everyone ,

I'm have issues boot into Zorin , dual boot , win10 , Dell xps435

I am getting this message when I try to log in

I think i had this screen before...after a power outage as the system didnt shutdown correctly... I think i did control and D and it continued to boot and it didnt happen again

if you do as it says and enter your password at the prompt then journalctl -xb at the next prompt you may be able to scroll through the output and find out what failed and put you into emergency mode.

I have sometimes found the fix is to run a recovery version from the advanced options and then reboot

Possibly there is something in your grub.cfg file that is telling it to do something that is no longer possible, like mount a drive you no longer have.

  • Is this a fresh Installation or do You use Zorin already a While?
  • Did You received any Updates before this?
  • Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
  • Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
  • Is the BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode?
  • When You type on this Screen exit does it boot normally?

It been working fine for quite q while
