Hi
Haven't touched anything on my install and now 1 in 3 times I open Brave, the browser seems to open in the background but no UI appears. I then have to right-click and quit the window, try to launch again and it suddenly launches in a non-full screen window. Crazy. Any ideas?
A couple things come to mind to me. Are you running Wayland or X11? If you don't know, in Settings -> About, you can see what it says for Windowing in that menu. If you're on Wayland, I would suggest maybe trying X by clicking the little cog that shows up in the bottom right of the screen when you're typing in your password to login.
The other thing that might be causing some issues is I know of late there have been some reports that have ended up being Hardware Acceleration being the issue. You could try turning that off in Brave and see if that makes a difference as well.
Windowing is Wayland. I didn't even know there were choices....I think I will leave this alone, could it potentially lead to other issues?

Switching between X and Wayland won't have any other issues, and even if it does, it's always just a simple switch at login to switch back. And if it did fix your issue (we'll see if the acceleration off helps), you don't have to change every time you log in, it remembers the last choice you made, so you only need to change if you wanted to change back.
I auto-login, sorry but how do I get to the cog thing to change?
If you're set to auto-login, you'll just have to select the Logout option (not Lock) and then when you're logging in and it is asking you for your password, the cog should appear in the bottom right of your screen.

With automatic login you see no cog wheal. You can switch to a login with password to show it or create another user account with password login (you don't need to use it) or disable wayland completely in a config file for gdm but then you can't switch at login.
Maybe it's time to switch to Firefox

Maybe a Reinstall could help? Do You use the preinstalled Brave Browser? If yes, type in Terminal:
sudo apt reinstall brave-browser

No, should not.
When you install any OS you need to provide a password, even if auto-login is enabled. As stated previously, all you need to do is logout, select your username and a cog appears lower right. Click on it and change to 'Zorin Desktop on xorg'.
To revert to the inferior Wayland, do the reverse.
But this only works when Auto Login is disabled which @azur01 can make in the Settings.

No it doesn't, because I actually did this on a previous VM install on Zorin 17.
OK I tried the hardware acceleration off and CPU usage (expectedly) went up by just under double (I only have a 7th gen i5!), so I put that back.
Brave had an update today and I have rebooted 3 times and so far it is opening as expected. Hopefully sorted. Thanks for everyone's input.
