Bros Trend AC1200 WiFi Adapter how to make it work?

Thank you. If this last ditch effort doesn't work I will buy one of your recommended models.

Gonna get this... TP-Link N150 USB Wifi Adapter (TL-WN725N)
Sorry I took up so much time yet it was a good learning experience.

Here is my correction (missing a few which is in use).

Go for the chipset name not the make.

NETGEAR is not what it once was guys, I DO NOT recommend that brand, the quality has gone down considerably. I still have a NETGEAR piece of tech, but its several years old, and still working for now, but when its dead, I am switching it over to TP-LINK!

I had a NEGEAR Ethernet switch, and it died this year. So bought a new ethernet switch and switched to TP-Link, and its been performing flawlessly for months now!

TP-Link-TL-SG1016-D-16-Port-Network-Switch
TP-Link-TL-SG1016-D-16-Port-Network-Switch

Anyways, this is the TP-Link WIFI USB Adapter that Michel uses.

It seems almost all AC1200/1300 requires a manual driver installation. I suspect that the chipsets are too new for the drivers to be included in kernel.

Thanks. I have been warned. I want a USB WiFi Adapter and FrenchPress has posted some valuable information contained in the pic.

it is too much a hit and miss experience and a big time waster.

As I wrote in the above posting, AC1200/1300 is tricky.

You could make them work in Linux by manually installing drivers.
But if there is no .deb installer, you have to compile the driver yourself from the source. It is not very beginner friendly.

My recommendation is RT5572 chipset which can run up to 300Mbps (My daily driver).

Almost all cheap USB WiFi can get 150bps only.

That is the one that I posted up above. And its the one that FrenchPress is talking about that gets you 150MBPS.

That WIFI dongle is not fast enough for 4K streaming, but it is fast enough to stream 1080P, you shouldn't have issues. I realize that Linux is like a whole new world to you, but think of it like a big truck.

You know how to drive a car, a big truck, is just a larger version. You may have to learn where all the controls are, but if you got experience with one, you can do the other. You handled Windows, you can certain handle Zorin OS.

I have faith in you ZorinNoobie!

The big plus factor of that photo.

Thank you!
I try and continue to learn.

Thanks yet I am an old guy with a 1080P monitor and TV so I needn't worry about 4K. At least not yet.
