LOL yes… I was trying to convey without posting as we seem to be working toward winning an award on most post made in a thread.

install?

That would be awe(ful)some

Does synaptic show the Zorin Desktop packages as available? If so, we need to examine those packages to see if they are the Zorin Lite Desktop, first. We are looking for the Zorin Core desktop. In Synaptic, you can click on the package and look for information on it at the bottom of the window.
Also, if the system is still saying broken packages are held, we need to resolve that before installing anything.

uh you have reddit?

it will be better and more private

Uhh zorin-os-desktop and zorin-os-lite-core shows up

The forum is the best avenue to take as it allows other members to input suggestions and allows others to see the suggestions made that may help them.

However, it would be helpful if you reduced the number of posts you are making in the thread to direct On Topic responses.

Ok, so the desktop packages are showing up- when you select them for Information, what does it show? I never installed Zorin Gnome Core files as if I wanted Zorin Core, I just installed Zorin OS Core.

screenshots

Ok, I opened Synaptic on my end and compared packages. The “zorin-os-desktop” is the correct package for Core.

Odd, your first screenshot shows both Core and Lite- one should be highlighted as installed already.

ok. Install?

Go for it. Let’s see if broken packages are still held. When you mark it for installation, then click apply, it will give a pop up showing all the dependencies, then proceed.

Mark each and remove in Synaptic.

I have never had Synaptic claim dependency problems AFTER allowing an installation.

Given any more thought to dual booting Zorin Core alongside of Zorin Lite?

EDIT: Hold on- are you installing from Synaptic or from Terminal?

GONNA GIVE IT UP
GONNA LET IT DOWN
GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT IT
GONNA MAKE IT CRY
