I have been using Zorin OS 16.9 Pro editon since it first came out. I turned off my computer and when I turned it back on I am no longer able to connect to the internet.
I can connect to the network, but no internet browsing for me. Have no idea what happened, I have connected to my hotspot same issue. I have other devices connected to my home network and they work just fine.
Currently I have booted into a usb stick, the try Zorin OS 18 and I can connect and browse internet. I didn't do any new updates or anything it just stopped letting be browse the internet.
Tried booting into old kernal. Did not work. Not to sure what version of Zorin I have if 16.9 does not exist. It would be the latest version Zorin Os 16
Are secure boot and fast boot in your BIOS disabled (or do you have created a MOK to use Zorin with secure boot enabled) and if you have a Dualboot with Windows is fast startup disabled in the energy settings of Windows?
These settings are sometimes reset by firmware updates.
What is the terminal output of
sudo lshw -C network
?
I'm not sure if it would work when you upgrade to 18 pro and you would have to upgrade to 17 pro first if you want to use the upgrader tool and you don't want to make a fresh install. Does the WLAN work when you boot from Zorin 16 pro bootstick?
How long was it off? And do You mean with ''off'' really off, without Power or Standy-By or something like that? Are You able to make an Update with the Software Updater?
By off, I mean I powered my computer off from the start menu, went to the gym and came back and then powered the laptop back on. Secure boot/fast boot disabled in the Bios.
Hey, Thanks for everybody's help. I just went ahead and installed zorin 18 pro. Everything seems to be working on the new install. Going to concentrate on migrating some old files and browser passwords over and hopefully things go well.
