I've decided to just use fedora, it seems to be the only OS that supports my hardware. I'll eventually come back to zorin when os 18.1/19 comes for potential hardware support. The new kernel works flawlessly.

When Fedora works for You and suits You, that is totally fine.
If someone has a .iso of the installer with only the 6.8 kernel that'd be great, any kernel using 6.8 seems to be working to some capacity.
You could install Zorin 17 wihich uses kernel 6.8.
If you like you could hold this kernel with apt-mark and then upgrade to Zorin 18 or stay at Zorin 17, it is still supported.
