Can't install Zorin OS - black screen

Dual booting is when you have more than one operating system installed.

Using a VM is a mounted OS, within an OS and is not considered the same as Dual Booting.

When select the thumb drive I get the menu with the three installation options (Regular, safe graphics and nvidia), UEFI settings and shut down. Then, no matter whichever of the three installations I choose, I get the black screen and nothing else happens.

Can you follow these steps:

When you boot, do you have the e option on the grub menu to Edit the grub parameters? If so, tap e, then arrow key to the part that says quiet splash and add nomodeset It will look like quiet splash nomodeset Save and exit and test if it boots. If it does - it is a GPU issue. If it does not, try instead: quiet splash acpi=off
