Cirrus Logic audio Zorin 18 Pro - Lenovo Slim 7 14

I installed Zorin OS Pro 18 on my Lenovo Slim 7 14 laptop. Everything looks great but no audio. Will their be a new kernel that supports Lunar Lake-M HD Audio controller? I installed Pavucontrol but their were no hardware profiles that worked. Updating sof-firmware had no affect. If I have to download an earlier kernel, are there instructions on how to do that? Not familiar with that process.

You can take a look at this thread. Maybe it can help you:

Welcome to the Forum!

If You want try an ealier Kernel, You could install the 6.8 Kernel out of the Zorin Repo's. But maybe try @Forpli's Advice first. If that shouldn't lead to Success, You could try it with the ealier Kernel.

Which kernel are you booting. If 6.17... have you tried booting a previous (6.14...) kernel that you may still have.

Do a Restart.
Then from grub menu:
select "Additional Options for Zorin"
then select a 6.14 kernel generic option that should be listed.
try boot with that kernel and see if any difference.

From my websearches using: "Lunar Lake-M HD Audio Ububtu 24.04" some say kernel 6.8.. works. So 6.14 may also work, but 6.17 kernel has been a bit of a problem child.
EDIT: Another hit suggests you need 6.16.8 kernel. So you may need a later, not older kernel for that soundcard. ref: No built-in sound on HP OmniBook X Flip Laptop 16 - #2 by rgubone - Support and Help - Ubuntu Community Hub

You could also have a play around with alsamixer.
Open a terminal session (Ctrl+Alt+T) then type:

alsamixer

Hit F6 to list soundcards. Post a screenshot.
Hit F5 to display All sound channels. Post a screenshot.
Check for any Muted "MM" channels and unmute them by selecting then typing "M"
Also have a play with the options for [Auto-Mute] channel, and [Loopback mode] channel, to see if any effect.
