I want to resize my MB photos to KB photos to ease in Email transmission. I thought Software would have a tool but no can see. Does the search bar in Software act as a search engine or do you have to ask for it by name, exactly?
You don't have to match it exactly, no. Search is pretty basic, however. It will use the name, description and metadata like tags to search for software in the repositories. Keep in mind that not all software is named very intuitively; Firefox is a pretty famous example.
I don't know of any graphical interfaces that provide this except for online converters like TinyPNG. If you are concerned about privacy, then you probably want to have something running offline but unfortunately the only graphical interface that I know about would be an actual image editor like GIMP.
I've just found out about Mazanoke which can be self-hosted, if you are interested in it.
You could try it with a plugin for file explorer nautilus
sudo apt install nautilus-image-converter
In Windows I have ofen used Xnview MP, it is also available for Linux
Edit: I tested the plugin in Zorin 17.3 just now, it works well. I think it is the easiest way to resize images. You can also resize multiple image files all at once.
