what to check ?
have you tried Camera
its available in the software store.
i that doesn't work then this maybe of help.

no luck with all this as well..... "Camera" say's could not play video stream....and cheese just says "There was an error playing video from the webcam"
syslog says the device is busy
the webcam works in Linux mint, the little light is lit up next to the lens in Zorin..

Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
When it shows Wayland, I wold suggest to try it with switching to X11/Xorg. To do that, go to the Login Screen. Click there on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.
