Zorin has a selection of Desktop backgrounds, and also allows me to upload images; All good!, but I only want a boring old Grey Background. So how do I change my background to a plain colour?
You can't, at least in the current version of Zorin OS although I think in later ones this will be supported since it's a somewhat requested feature. For now, it's easier to just download an image that's just a solid color, and use that.
If you want a specific shade of gray, you can install something like GIMP to edit that picture, or edit it online with the color you want.
It's also possible to run a few commands in the terminal to achieve the same result. It's a bit tedious and I wouldn't recommend it necessarily, but you can follow these steps:
Take an all-grey Image and use it as Background Picture (don't have to be a big One. In gnome-tweaks, You have to would have to set up the Scaling for the whole Screen if it should be needed. Maybe You like this one:
Many Thanks for the help.
Ok! A dark grey picture it is. I had in mind to explore the possibility of including a Date/Time widget to compliment it at some later date but I guess not now.
You can do that with a Gnome Extension: Desktop Widgets (Desktop Clock) - GNOME Shell Extensions
Wow! Its Perfect! Thanks
