Disable displaying bitmaps by using windows truetype fonts

As a Windows user, it is important for me to be able to edit existing Word documents with the corresponding Windows fonts on Linux and also exchange them with others. This without changing the fonts included.
Due to the fact that Linux first displays the integrated bitmaps for TTF fonts, such fonts are displayed terribly (of course I installed them first). This can be circumvented by deactivating the display of bitmaps. Actually, this should be integrated directly into the installation.
In this article you can find the corresponding hints (for Mint, but it works with Zorin as well).
