Download Updates Greyed Out

When trying to install Zorin 18.1 there is an option under Other Options to download updates while installing Zorin OS but it is greyed out.

Is this normal?

Steve

It happen sometimes and it's not important, it will be done after you installed Zorin

No, that's not normal. Usually, you can choose that option during the installation. Maybe it is due to the server issues that are still occurring from time to time? Are you connected to the internet?
But you can install the updates later after Zorin is installed.

I just did the updates after the initial install, so all good. Not sure why its greyed out. I have done 10 installs and its was always greyed out.

Did You had an Internet Connection durling Installation? If yes: Wifi or Wired?

All my installs were wired. Internet service is 1 gig symmetrical.

And You had an active Internet Connection during Installation?

Absolutely...if my Internet connection were to go down or blip i have monitoring setup to let me know.

I've installed Zorin 18 maybe 8 times and I've noticed every time without exception that the update during installation option was greyed out. As already mentioned, no big deal, as I could update after the installation, but why have a function that doesn't appear to work?

And You see that somewhere else or on Your actual Machine? I ask because it could be that when the Install Process begins the Driver for Your Ethernet Card wasn't installed and so, You wouldn't be able to have a Connection until the System is installed.

On my actual machine. After I boot from the USB drive it goes through a config process. One of those options is to set the timezone. I believe at that point I have a network connection bc it shows me the right timezone I am in. I gotta believe if I didnt have a network connection to the Internet I would not see the timezone properly.

Do you know if the Ugreen 2.5 gig USB A dongle is supported by Zorin 18.1? It is using the Realtek RTL8156BG chipset.

Does Your Internet after the Installation work? If yes, then it is supported.

Yes it works fine!
