Yes, I am - I'm using it as a new interest to give me something to get up for in the morning. I don't actually need a functioning computer, Windows or Linux (I've 2), to DO anything now I'm retired - the point of trying Linux is to learn new things and try out lots of apps simply because they're there - it's discovery and exploration, which I've always needed
I understand, trust me we've all been there. I myself have trashed my own system many times trying things out, but was always aware of the risks and would simply rewind and take a step back.
Eagerness can be a double edge sword, that's all I'm saying.
I know, and I'm sorry to inflict myself so much on the kind people on this forum. It's a big jump moving from Windows, especially when you don't know what is installed where and what the different directories are for. I'll rein myself in and try to work things out myself
We're all here to learn and help each other, you are of course welcome to ask questions if you have any. What I'd recommend though is to take things a bit slower and explore one topic at the time.
