Recently bought Acer C27A All-in-one PC, down-sizing from aged iMac 27. Still have MacBook Air, iPhone etc. So maybe a little spoilt for technology.
Now retired, I no longer need the heavyweight brands and, as a retiree, cannot justify their price tags.
The Acer comes with WIndows 11 pre-loaded, but I liked the ethical ideals behind Linux. Decided on dual installation as above.
Obviously, didn't have much to do with Windows and the Zorin installation was relatively smooth. Had problems, like others, with Balena Etcher, but Rufus OK.
So far so good.
Haven't done much with Windows, even though I've used Excel and Word for many years. It is my aim, mainly, to use Zorin, particularly Brave and the Libre Suite.
My one complaint was the look of the Boot menu. I had to change it.
I quickly found Grub Customizer, from there my problems started. I have spent the last week with issues mounting up.
The original black and white boot menu went BIOS-blue and white and filled the screen but with a tiny list of options. The Windows Boot Manager
disappeared altogether. Online suggestions have largely sent me in circles but have helped reduce my fear of Terminal, if not Customizer.
At this time, the Grub menu has totally disappeared, yet Zorin nevertheless boots directly. I have Zorin seemingly working well, but I am unable to go forward as long as the Grub menu is a major issue. Windows is unbootable from the Grub menu and therefore unusable in a normal sense.
Am I faced with uninstalling Zorin, hopefully taking Customizer, completely, with it, then restoring the Acer to get Windows back, and, finally, installing a new copy of Zorin.
Comment would be welcome.

I know that GRUB Customizer is a mentioned Tool but I personally I'm not a big Fan of it. I heard too much Issues related to that. So, I wouldn't recommedn to use it. You can set up a GRUB Theme without it, too. I did that in the Past, too. Is a bit Terminal Work, yes. But it worked for me every Time I did it.
But we should concentrate now for repairing GRUB. If You still have the Bootstick with Zorin on it, start it and choose the Option ''Try Zorin'' to get in Live Mode. There look for ''Boot Repair'' and let it run. It can hopefully repair Your GRUB and set it back to default.
Thanks for the advice and guidance. Unfortunately the Boot Repair would not co-operate due to a fault preventing execution.
Took a deep breath and installed Zorin for a second time. This, helpfully, loaded a new Grub Menu, the default white font on black background one, I had disliked in the first install, but was now so happy to see. I now have two Zorin's and Win 11 to sort out, but I think I can do that.
As a general aside, as a previously spoon-fed Apple user, I would agree with the commentators, who preach hanging-in with Linux and reaping the rewards for perseverance.

Do You still want set up a different GRUB Theme? You can set that up without GRUB Customizer, too. I can give You Instructions if You want.
If you don't like the appearance of the Grub menu, I suggest you try a grub theme.
