Dual monitors with only one HDMI?

hey guys I inherited a laptop and I’m trying to make it run with 2 monitors with zorin OS

the problem is that I only have a single HDMI port and I’m looking for hardware that will support this OS.

my first attempt was to buy this USB to VGA adapter but it doesn’t seem there are any linux drivers available for it. though the usb slot recognizes there is something in there it just isn’t quite sure what to make of it.

is there any way to make this work? if it’s not feasible I can simply return the second monitor I bought.

thank you for your help

also I am open to spending a bit more money on this so if anybody’s got any ideas hmu
