Hello again, everyone.
I am using an Elgato 4K Pro M2. My gaming PC and streaming PC are separate machines. The card works normally, but when I select "Mirror," it displays a "No Signal" error. How can I fix this issue?
mirror mode on the elgato app is kinda windows flavored. on linux the 4k pro usually shows up as a v4l2 device and you grab it in obs/ffmpeg instead of their mirror button.
try doin this:
- on the streaming pc:
v4l2-ctl --list-devices
ls /dev/video*
- open OBS → add Video Capture Device (V4L2) → pick the elgato node
- on the gaming pc set the output into the card to a fixed mode the card likes (1080p60 or 4k60). turn hdr off if you can. hdcp content also shows as no signal
- if "mirror" is the elgato app feature that loops the feed to another monitor, that path is often missing on linux. obs preview is the stand-in
paste the v4l2-ctl --list-devices output if obs doesnt see it.
