Fans running constantly, slow performance

Heya!
Recently jumped to Zorin OS Core (Main OS)

I have a Lenovo Legion Y540
Specs :

  • RTX 2060
  • i7-10750H
  • 16GB RAM

From the start from switching to Zorin, my fans are running constantly.
And performance are getting slow (Like apps lagging, OS Staggering), as well e something very weird with my battery time, it say I have like 6 hours of battery time. But browsing the web and watching some videos, i get a maximum of 2 hours maybe.

I feel like I am missing something, I have tried updating. As well tried the propitiatory NVIDIA drivers.

You installed the open source NVIDIA driver from Additional Drivers in Software Updater? I had the same problem on my desktop’s 750Ti and that fixed it for me.

Agreed, this sounds like struggling graphics.

Yeah, I am not sure if i did it right.
I went to software updater, settings, additional driver and choose the open source one, and then apply.

Can you use Synaptic Package Manager to see which drivers you have installed? Just to confirm it is the one you see in Software Updater. Searching for “gpu” should bring it up (sort by Installed Version to make the packages easy to find).
