I have a Brother AIO printer (MFC-J1170DW) which works well with my Zorin laptop, both for printing and scanning. I installed the drivers in the toolkit from the Brother website. The installation of the drivers created -- in settings>printers -- a printer called BRFAX. If I open the Advanced Printer settings for this printer, under Printer Properties > Printer Options there is a field called input fax number. However, if I select this printer when trying to print a document, the "print" goes nowhere. No option to enter a fax number appears at all. Does anyone know how to get the fax printer BRFAX to work?
Have you checked the Brother website?:
Thank you! I'll check that out. I have a different model, so that link never showed up for me.

You may need a fax modem to connect to the printer and telephone line unless it has a digital conversion facility like the Brother MFC-J995DW.
