File explorer line edit path instead of buttons

Can we have the ability to switch to a line edit file path like windows at the top of the file explorer?

If you press Ctrl+L, you get a path.

I don’t want to have to press a shortcut though
I might forget it

Havent been able to try this yet and assuming Gnome.

From here...

Make it permanent (i.e. to always use location entry) run:

gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences always-use-location-entry true

or

dconf write /org/gnome/nautilus/preferences/always-use-location-entry true

Same commands to revert to breadcrumbs (just replace true with false).

thankyou this works!
I think adding a option to the file manager settings for this would be good for zorin.
