I was reading about Firefox being removed from some Linux distributions due to bugs or problems. Is it a safe browser for the end user?
It is safe, yes. Of Course, You have to install Updates to get Security fixes and more.
I guess they remove it because of Concerns because of Mozilla's changed Terms of Use and the AI Integration.

There would be Vivaldi. You can download it from the Developers Website as .deb Version:
The Installation will add the Vivaldi Repo. So, You get Updates for the Browser and You don't have to handle that manually.

Yes, Firefox is safe.
Zorin OS changed the default browser from Firefox to Brave in 2025 (for new installs) due to concerns regarding the new Terms of Use for Firefox:

Yes, Firefox is perfectly safe, and as @Sebastien showed, Firefox now comes with an AI kill switch. You can quickly disable all AI features by going to:
Settings > AI Controls > Block AI Enhancements (switch to on)
That's it. Now you have regular old Firefox back. As a bonus, do the following:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Firefox Data Collection Use
Uncheck any or all boxes.
