The firewall status button turns to grey after a couple of seconds after enabling it!
The status is still shown as enabled and the terminal confirms it, but... weird
It looks like it disables itself, not very encouraging.

yeah the button going grey while ufw status still says active has bitten me too. in my experience the panel just fails to refresh even though the firewall stayed on. if sudo ufw status verbose still shows active you are probably fine and it is just the toggle looking weird.
