Flash drive boots into "GNU GRUB V2.12"

so troubleshooting steps wise I've already:

  1. tried multiple boot drive makers (popsicle, and balena)
  2. tried multiple flash drives (walmart brand 32gb, and sandisk 512gb that will become a backup drive)
  3. redownloaded the .iso from a differnt mirror
  4. checked the hashes for both iso files
I am running a thinkpad l14 gen3 and currently have Pop! installed on it and am just wanting to distro hop but even with friends tech help this wall wont budge

Disable fast boot and secure boot in your BIOS.
If you have a Dualboot with Windows also disable fast startup in the energy settings of Windows.
If you have an UEFI Bios set as partition scheme gpt when you create the boot stick, and when you have a legacy BIOS set MBR as partition scheme.

Could You post a Picture of the Screen that You get?

I had gotten it working but not in the way I was hoping to achieve, the first 3 images were before i put ventoy on a usb, 4th pic was what happened when i tried using ventoy to boot into zorin and install it but i had... browsed to the iso file on the harddrive that Pop! was on so it broke the hard drive but the bootable usb started working somehow

now zorin is the only os on it and its working fine, i was just hoping to use the 2nd drive which is a 512gb to backup all my files before swapping

You don't have an external Drive with a BackUp?

thats what the 2nd flas drive was going to be, but it was being used to troubleshoot why i couldnt usb boot into zorin
