FlatSeal Causing System Restarts - Need

I've been facing an issue with FlatSeal on Zorin OS. Whenever I try to start FlatSeal, it causes my system to restart. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application multiple times, but the problem persists.

Steps I've taken so far:

  1. Checked for updates and ensured that I have the latest version of FlatSeal and Flatpak.
  2. Verified permissions and attempted to override them using the command flatpak override com.github.tchx84.Flatseal --filesystem=host-etc:ro.
  3. Tried running FlatSeal with a different renderer using GSK_RENDERER=gl flatpak run com.github.tchx84.Flatseal.
  4. Reviewed system logs using journalctl but couldn't identify any specific errors.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have suggestions for a solution?

Thanks in advance for your

I use Flatseal to give permissions for external drive, for Steam. I have not had issues with restarting my PC. I wouldn't know where to start. Hope someone can help you with this.

So, You have simply installed it, then You want open it and Your System suddenly reboot's? Do You get any Error-Messages?

"No, I don't receive any error messages; the system just suddenly reboots when I try to open FlatSeal after installing it."

And when You open it with the Terminal? Do You get there any Error's shown?

"I haven't tried opening it with the Terminal yet. I'll check for any errors and update you."

"I have tried opening it with the Terminal,Same problem it reboots the pc "

Did You see any Eror Messages in the Terminal?

"There was no error message. It's okay; I have uninstalled Flatseal and am no longer using it."

You might still see some errors that were logged. In the applications menu search for "Logs" and move to the "All" tab in the sidebar. Then, you can use the search function on the right side (magnifying glass) and search for things like "flatseal", "error" and similar terms. Hopefully there may be something that sheds some light on the issue.

Now that you've uninstalled it, you could try to clear any cached files and install it again. Maybe something went wrong the first time.

Launch a terminal from the applications menu and run:

flatpak repair --user
rm -rf .var/app/com.github.tchx84.Flatseal

And then, reinstall.

I followed the suggested solution and installed Flatseal, but unfortunately, it didn't resolve the issue. My PC still restarts unexpectedly. Has anyone else experienced this problem or found a different solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What graphics are you using?

sudo lshw -C video

Are you logging on on Xorg or Wayland?

Try log into Xorg and see if the problem persist.
At the logging screen, click the username a cog should appear. There you can select Xorg.

Curious to know, still using Wayland or xorg? Still using flatseal or not?
