I'm a newbie to Linux OS. I inserted a couple of USB's and some of the files say empty. Is there a solution to this? Zorin is very challenging, but a wonderful operating system.
Hi and welcome.
Do you have access to a Windows machine to see if you get the same results? How old are the USB sticks?
How are the USB sticks formatted?
Welcome to the Forum!
Beside the other Questions here: What File Types are on the Stick?
It might be a Ubuntu/GNOME Nautilus bug.
I had the same problem when I was using ubuntu in the past and opening Nautilus as admin was solving my issues.
Open terminal by pressing: Ctrl Alt T
Write this and click on enter: sudo -H nautilus
Opening nautilus with admin priviliges must solve the issue.
For long term solution, you can check Dolphin
I will have a Windows 10 CPU later today. The USB's are approximately about tow to three years old. On the USB stick some folders open and others don't. I only have documents on the folders that don't open.
Thank you all for the rapid response, I'll get back.
I will try this today and get back, thank you!
Only to have asked: There are no Encryptions or Password Protection with this Stick?
What File Type they are?
I like to thank everyone's assistance in this matter and ask for forgiveness in taking so long to respond. The flash drive died. Gratitude.
