What did you click? The screenshot does not show anything previous that would lead to a webpage. It shows the panel applet that leads to the Wifi Settings and this screenshot shows the Wifi Settings.
One with 17.3 on it. Sorry; I wasn't clear. Avoid 18 like the plague. It is horrible.
From the page that was the start page... you could click on settings and it would take you to the USERS page that showed Diana as Administrator.
But now if you click on settings it takes you to the above page and I need to see the USERS PAGE that was there before...
I had been in the terminal putting codes in to delete the extra users that I had put in... alexa, diana with a little d, cameo... and once again put in code to try and take out Diana the Administrator because the no password was a problem.
Now I would really like to know what is and what isn't still in the USERS LIST.
OMG... I MUST TELL THE WHOLE STORY... AS I BREATHE DEEPLY... that is exactly what i had been working on for quite some time in the terminal... I was sitting on a loveseat in front of a large tv I was using for a screen... I had just had to stop to allow the code to flow... when to my shock and horror... my toy poodle, Alexus, bounced onto the top of the keyboard in my lap.... I thought I would have
heart failure... the screen went dark but I could hear the computer working... it stayed dark for a long time and when it finally came back... It appeared as if Deeanna's 15.3 had been reborn.
Alexus is the computer guru.
Removing extra users is fine, but you will need to retain one admin account. That said: How is The Password The Problem?
I thought we had established two things:
- The Password blocking you was a BIOS password, not an OS password
- You do not need your 15.3 password in order to install Zorin OS 17.3 at all
The hold up, last I knew, was that you were struggling to get BIOS to allow your USB stick to be recognized as a bootable device.
I really don't know what to think now and I just found that last picture that I put above here that shows boot priority and it doesn't look normal to me and I don't
know what might be acceptable there.
It is normal. Add in cards are additional drives like SATA drives, SSD, RAID controllers...
I'm not positive yet but I believe that I now own the password to the bios!

One of the things I did in there today was make deeanna a user and i coded for her to be an administrator.... dying to know if I succeeded with that... suspicious that I did by "deeanna" showing up on the menus.
I agree that it sounds successful by your other posts. That said, that name will show in menu's if logged in on that account, even if it is a low level user, too.
Did you see the pic above that shows boot priority and shows that??
I hadn't thought about it like that and of course, you may be right but I'm praying that I am... lol
When I made it to that boot priority in the bios... the cards were second, hard disk first and I made the cards first.
This was logical and you can leave it at that.
The Logic was that you are seeking to get the BIOS to register your USB stick and... that would qualify as a Bootable Add In
If there are no bootable add in cards connected, then the boot will proceed on the hard disk as normal. So there is no need to revert that.

Hopefully, I will get it to install in the near future! Tomorrow I have to be gone most of the day so I probably won't get back to it until Thursday.
OK, so at least you can get to Settings ... now you need to scroll down to Users in the left Pane. When editing you will need your login password to unlock it to make any changes. This is when it becomes useful to have a separate Admin account and make yourself a Standard user. You just need to remember the Admin password, so write it down somewhere should you forget it.

Today I have to be away most of the day.
Last night I do believe I was truly in a state of shock! I kept trying to think "What did I do different today regarding trying to create a new password for Diana?"
It's 4:57am and I just woke up and it came to me!
I want all of you to know... it might help you to help someone else someday!
All the times before when I got to the enter new UNIX password for Diana in the terminal...
it didn't matter if I put a letter or a number as the first digit... the cursor would not move... like it didn't acknowledge my keystroke at all!
Yesterday when I got there again, I decided to type the same password twice blindly... even though the screen showed no reaction to my typing.
After I did it the second time and hit enter...
it said password successful !!!
Then I got to the boot priority.
This is how it has always been, designed for security. If memory serves, Zorin 17 shows stars/asterisks with each keystroke you enter for the password in the terminal.
OK. So, let's step back for a second. Where are we at with this? Are we ready to try and boot Zorin into a live environment using version 17.3? Isn't that what you want to do, @Diana? Please, just yes or no. Let's keep this simple. Thanks!
