Personally, I use Vivaldi. To each their own.
Also - are you happy with Zorin OS 17?
I haven't succeeded at installing LibreWolf yet... the method I used gives me a 404 error.
Do you know an easy way to install Vivaldi?
Not Happy Yet. I thought the install and using would be much easier and it isn't living up to my hopes and dreams yet. From the things I had read on the website I didn't expect any bumps in the road just a true dream come true!
I'm going to type in the coding that I've been using to try and download LibreWolf... can you tell me what is wrong with it?
(Terminal Window on Zorin)
curl -fsSL https://deb.librewolf.net/keys/librewolf.asc | gpg
echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/librewolf.gpg] https://
sudo apt update
sudo apt install librewolf
Download the .DEB file from Vivaldi's website. Install it via the Software Manager.
Sorry. I have no knowledge of that method. Most Debian/Ubuntu installation instructions for Librewolf cite use of extrepo. (e.g. official LW install link offered by Omnimaxus above.)
I also found this whilst searching more on "extrepo", which may explain use wth LibreWolf. Debian Migration Guide – LibreWolf
I did the first command and after reading the last line of the result "may break your system" thought I best verify that I should continue or not ??
The lock usually means you have got elevated root permissions elsewhere. I would close all open applications, open a new terminal and enter:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Press return key and see what happens (if anything).
I just had to give password and then a new input line...
So where are we at?
This error usually is shown when other package installer are opened at the same time and in process, e.g. gnome software center, synaptic package manager, software updater....
I am about to redo the first line.... if it gives the same response... should I continue?
This is 2nd line input:
sudo extrepo enable librewolf && sudo extrepo update librewolf
which I entered and it just gave me a new input line??
Going to do last line now...
sudo apt update && sudo apt install librewolf -y
It worked! YIPPE !!!
THANK ALL OF YOU FOR HELPING ME WITH THAT !!!
It shouldn't come up with that warning if you haven't got any other install processes running as @Forpli has explained.
@Diana With LibreWolf privacy settings are set strict by default. Do not be surprised if one or two websites may not view quite as expected (but rare). You can always make changes to settings same as you would for Firefox.
Thanks for the explanation!
All you need now is to ditch Google search and use Mojeek which does not censor searches and is private. If you don't get the answer you want you can choose from a raft of alternative search engines that Mojeek also offers.
Thanks for that! Can you refresh my memory on how I can send private messages to you on here?
