I'm having an issue with my window edge being a pixel off after upgrading to Zorin 18. Small thing, but it's a bit annoying. I'm using 2560x1440 monitors, so with 100% scale I feel like everything is too small, 200% is too big, for me 125% is the sweet spot, but I'm getting the right edge of many windows looking a pixel off now:
Fractional Scaling operated by considering non-integer values - but Mutter will Round Off the value when Fractional Scaling is used. It is a bit of a catch-22.
Have you tested on Xorg? On the standard X11, this is more mature than on Wayland.
You might also try 100%, but only increasing font size.
How is Joplin installed? If it is a Flatpak, appimage or Snap, it will not follow the system theme.
If it is a Flatpak, Flatseal can allow it permissions to see your theme.
It's the default theme. I don't think I had the issue on 17 with the borders, and that would have been Xorg I believe? Do I lose anything going back to xorg instead of wayland? I did try scaling just the font but I think I'm too used to the 125% scale on everything. I know that would fix the issue with my Steam games not being able to see my monitor's actual resolution, but I can't really run anything at 2k without FSR anyway.
Ah yes, I installed the snap version of Joplin in Software. So it would probably be easier to install via the script instead so the theme will match.
Not really... Though the internet is full of claims from people saying their eyes can detect things far outside of human detection.
This is an interesting point; what if you used a different resolution that does not leave a remainder on the scaling factor that Mutter will round off?
No border issues with 1080p and 100% scale, but it doesn't look quite as sharp. I think the right move would have been skipping the 2k monitor entirely and get a 4k monitor with 200% scale. It's a really irritating resolution since all UIs are designed for 1080 and my eyes aren't great.
