Function key for "Start Menu" Zorin OS 18Core

Good morning i want to reinstall zorin os 17.3 core instead of zorin os 18 core I downloaded on a flash drive, but I can't start the boot menu menu to install from usb, despite the fact that at boot I press the "F12" key as indicated in the screen... can you help me Thank you, Anna

What computer/notebook do you have? Are you dual-booting or is Zorin the only intended OS?

An Alternative would be to go in the BIOS and start the USB Stick from there.

I had windows 10 to which I replaced Zorin OS 17.3 (and despite my computer shortcomings, everything worked)... two days ago I installed update to Zorin OS 18 Core and some functions and applications no longer work

Hello, to access the Bios? my pc: packard bell imedia i5638IT processor 550, 8GB DDR3... at startup I press "delete" and the screen opens...

OK, did you use Balena Etcher to create the USB thumb drive? I have had issues with this in the past when trying to install Zorin Education. Additionally, what is the capacity of the thumb drive and how old is it? Just like hard drives, flash drives don't last forever. I would also recomend you use Ventoy over Balena Etcher. As your device was built for Windows 7 I suspect your machine will not have UEFI present in the BIOS, so no need to create an EFI partition. You may want to create a /boot partition of 512 MB = 488.28125 MiB (GNU/Linux uses MebiBytes not Megabytes).

Hello, I used Balena x create the flash drive that has a capacity of 64GB and is unused... Attached are the screenshots of the Bios and the flash drive I have no computer knowledge (I went from windows10 to Zorin OS 17.3 updated two days ago to Zorin Os 18), so please if I have to "act" I ask if possible to "see" how Thank you for your kindness

To boot from the USB stick you need to set the USB stick at first position in your BIOS boot order as 1st Boot Device.

Thanks

Here You see the Boot Device Options (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). And there choose the 3rd one with the USB if that is the plugged in USB Stick. You ave there the Option ''Removable Device Priority'' too that could help to start from USB Stick, too.

Here You have on the right Side the Option ''BIOS Security Features''. Could You look there if there is ''Secure Boot'' and if it is disabled?

You may also need to check the settings for "Removable Device Priority".
