Even with Core Control, I'm having issues where I'm watching a show and playing a game, currently it's Runescape Dragon Wilds, and the Temperature (junction) reaches 100-110 Celsius and the GPU restarts, or the computer restarts.
Here's my specs:
Zorin OS 18.1 Pro
Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU
AMD Radeon RX 7600 GPU
64GB RAM
1TB SSD NVME
Any help would be great... Thanks for any help!
Welcome to the Forum!
How is the Game set up? Do You play via Steam?
Yes, I play via Steam. I'm not sure what other info you may need, but let me know! I appreciate the help
ok that vid card has same trouble mine had is a zero turn fan and comes on by demand and tends to over heat in linux you will need cooler control to keep the fans running all the time.. i am assuming this is a desktop and not a laptop
follow directions and setup a fan curve to get fans running full time to control heat better. let me know if this helps...it did me I set mine to run @ 40% min

Also if you B650 board is like my B550 go into bios and setup/run the Q fans on the board so it can set your case fans/cpu fan speeds to adjust automaticly to increaseing heat on my board the Q fans config is in the monitor tab then scroll down to bottom then hit the Qfans then run it
It doesn't look like it's working, it's staying at 30% even at 80C which should be at 80% fan speed. I'm confused
Is Steam installed as flatpak or APT/.deb Version?
I meant with my first Question what Settings You choose for the Game. Resolution, Details etc.
Did you set up your profile as well? also try setting the 0% by dragging it up to 40% like mine is in photo i sent
Flatpak using the Zorin Store
Photo of Graphics:
Yes, here's a screen, the "Fan" in blue with the graph is the profile I set up.
yes start at 40% on the graf so fan is always running all the time
click on the fan 0% lets see whats set there?
It's the same as the image, I've clicked into the Fan 0% - is there a setting I'm needing to look at?
im looking at mine was on wrong computer on one that has 6600xt now
ok when you made your profile name it then choose on gpu temp edge looks like yours is on temp junction
Temp Junction is what's crashing the GPU/Computer since it's hitting 110C+
ok mine doesnt have temp junction i set my temp edge which got the fans running all the time then after a few mins the gpu was cool to touch instead of being hot to fry an egg
When You set up lower Quality Settings, does it behave differently?
Maybe try the APT Version. Or alternatively download the .deb Version from Steam directly:
It looks like it's throwing errors...
