Gameing on linux

i just installed a game the last campfire
and its realy good
for a movement i doubt on the peoples who say linux is not good for gaming . but i want make sure that is it safe ?

I don't know anything about the Site. You could scan the Adress with VirusTotal to see if there are Detections and put it in a Search Engine.

In common, I would be careful - especially when the Site should offer Games for free that normally costs Money.

If you want to avoid headaches and potential viruses, it’s definitely safer to stick with official Linux game distributions. Most of the time, these come with verified installers, automatic updates, and proper support, so you won’t have to worry about malware or broken files. On top of that, using platforms like Steam or GOG ensures your games actually run smoothly on Linux without messy workarounds.

That reminds me of a specific launcher for pirated minecraft I kept hearing a lot about years ago

A lot of people used it and it was generally considered as "safe" ... until someone took a deeper look at how the launcher works and found malware. To be fair, I think it was starting from a specific version and not always like that, but the warning is there: just because many people use it doesn't mean it's safe, mostly when it comes to pirated software

I haven't taken a look at the website so I dont know if it only contains freeware and open source games, in which case that makes it a little better, but i'd still recommend downloading them from official sources. But if it contains pirated games, I'd suggest doing what DiegoL suggested: getting them from official reputable storefronts (Steam, itch, Epic or GOG) to avoid malware

I agree, i can only recommend buying games, or getting free games, from well known, name branded game distributors, like Steam, GOG, EPIC.

The best way you avoid viruses, malware, getting hacked, is staying off of unknown websites. For me personally, I only trust Steam.
