no.
do i have to reboot after i change the color settings?
Frankly I don't know. If the color changing to your satisfactory then a reboot isn't needed.
If the driver still won't install; Try then with
sudo apt install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
sudo apt install --reinstall nvidia-driver-550
oh yes sorry for asking these questions im just confused because of the colors and the resolution
ok i will try
hope it will work
No problem
I think the color problem is based upon wrong or none driver is loaded on your system.
I wrote the command what now?
A reboot is recommended. When a new driver or new kernel is installed or updated a reboot is needed.
0ok the resolution is norma now
Okay, give me output of:
nvidia-smi
inxi -Ga
Hmm... it still won't load the driver.
Try;
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
sudo prime-select nvidia
sudo reboot
Then;
nvidia-smi
By the way, have you updated your system before venturing forth?
EDIT: ALso do you dual boot? Have you disabled secure boot in BIOS?
yes i updated yes i do dualboot and yes i did it now
Now that secure boot is disabled, then turn off the computer (Windoews has a bad habit of locking the hardware if booted up and not turned off).
Now try to install the driver again.
Yes, it help disabling secure boot. The driver is now loaded. Now run some game test.
Games are still lagging.
What does the
nvidia-smi
say?
You did reboot right?
